Help identify a problem with the Flash Debugger

Why run the Flash Debugger?

All CrowdStar games are dependent on Flash to run. Flash is a multimedia tool provided by Adobe Technologies. Most everyone use their conventional Flash Player which is all you need to surf the web, watch streaming videos and - naturally - play fun games! Mighty Pirates is still in early stages of its development and the odd glitch or bug is pretty much unavoidable.  A lot of times it's hard for the game developers to pin-point the problem though and this is where the Flash Debugger Player can do wonders because when things go wrong, it'll tell you what went wrong. The information provided by the Flash Debugger is usually little more than gibberish to the normal person but in the right hands, it can prove invaluable!

In short, run the Flash Debugger if..

  • you're experiencing technical problems while running the game
  • you want to help us fix bugs and improve the game

Installing the Flash Debugger

  1. Go to the Adobe Flash Player Support Center.
  2. Scroll to the section called Adobe Flash Player 10 — Debugger Versions and download the version which correlates with your system. Alternatively, just follow these links:
  3. Install the software, reboot your browser and launch the game.

Then what?

When the normal Flash Player encounters a problem, it won't annoy further by telling you about it. Not so with the debugger version! It'll go to great and incomprehensible lengths in order to clarify the problem for you. Unless you're an engineer, chances are that you won't understand a thing. That's OK; all you need to do is to copy the information given to you and - coupled with a short description of what happened - post it in a new ticket and leave it for the developers to decipher it.

This is a big help for us and we really appreciate the effort! Many thanks from the Mighty Pirates team!

Yaaarr!!
