What is the purpose of the game? 

Happy Island is a Virtual World where you can build a vacation island with buildings and fun attractions to keep your visitors entertained and happy! The more buildings there are, the more time they'll spend on your island, the more pictures they'll take, the more money they'll spend. It is also a game of creativity! Explore your creative side and decorate your islands lavishly with our many decorations available. The more creative you are, the more XP you will earn. 

How do I get Visitors? 

Visitors will come automatically if there are buildings for them to visit. Bigger airports and bigger buildings can attract more Visitors. You can also purchase the Space Elevator for Facebook Credits, to bring astronauts to your island. Try to keep Visitors on the island for as long as possible. Click on your red-faced visitors who are heading to the airport and buy them a drink. Building more Attractions will give them more places to visit and make them happier. Adding new decorations will also increase amount of your visitors.

How do I gain Coins? 

a) Earn Coins by collecting Coins from your Buildings' Coin Bags once they have reached 2/3 full and it says "Collect". Earn 1 XP for every Coin that you collect. 

b) Earn Coins by clicking on the Garbage to clean it up. You will small amounts of coins for this action. Look for trash everywhere in the island for trash. 

c) Earn Coins by clicking on the Flotsam in the water. 

d) Earn Coins by visiting your neighbors' island and clicking on the Treasure Box. 

e) Earn Coins by Cruising (use Tour Cruise feature in your Archipelago)

Please note: Coins will not accumulate if you have trash on your island, so keep it clean! 

How do I level up? 

Earn 1 XP for every Coin that you collect. 
a) Earn XP by collecting Coins from your Buildings' Coin Bags once they have reached 2/3 full and it says "Collect". 
b) Earn XP by clicking on the Garbage to clean it up. 
c) Earn XP by clicking on the Flotsam in the water. 
d) Earn XP by visiting your neighbors' island and clicking on the Treasure Box. 
e)Earn XP point for every coin you spend. This is important to leveling up in the game. You get 1 XP point for every coin you spend, even on decorations, so decorate as much as you can! 

Where do I accept gifts? 

Gifts can be accepted from your Facebook Requests page. They will then automatically appear in your stash box. 

How do I expand my island? 

Islands are expanded as you level up. This happens automatically, sometimes in the smallest of ways. Every island has 30 "levels," and they get bigger every level (until the max). So if someone is Level 35 or 40, their first island won't grow any more. The island size is determined by the unlock levels.

Where is my whale / dolphin/ Orca? 

Marine creatures are migratory and will only occasionally swim to the top of the water to say hi.

Where are my friends? 

Missing friends is a Facebook error at this time. We hope that they resolve this soon.

How many upgrades does a building have? 

Currently, each attraction has 3 levels. At the top level, your attraction will earn more coins! 

What are Facebook Credits? 

Facebook Credits is a way to purchase premium attractions. When you see an attraction with a dollar icon next to it, that is a premium attraction, that will require Facebook Credits to purchase. Currently Facebook Credits are purchased by Credit Card or with your major Cell Phone carrier (your charges will be added to your cell phone bill). There is limited availability by Paypal, and we do not have information on when that will become widely available to all users just yet. 

Why are there so many Facebook Credit attractions? 

Without Facebook Credit attractions, we would not have a game to play. There would be no funds for maintaining servers or new attractions at all. You can still get the full game experience without using Facebook Credit attractions, but if you can afford to donate to the game by purchasing these attractions, please do! We will continue to add exciting coin attractions and decorations for the game on a regular basis.

What are the system requirements? 

We require at least IE 7, Firefox 3.4, and recently updated versions of Chrome, Safari, Opera, etc.

What is Archipelago view? 

It is a great brand new feature that allows you to view all of your islands on a map. You can visit them from this view by clicking on the island you would like to see. To do so click on globe icon in the right top corner of your game.

How many levels are there? 

Happy Island has unlimited levels! Unlimited levels equals unlimited fun!! 

How many islands can I have? 

Currently we have the availability to have up to 8 islands. You can earn your 2nd island at level 15. The initial cost for the 2nd island is 30,000 coins. You can purchase these islands by clicking the green mountain icon at the top right hand side of your game.

Islets

These are additional small islands you can add to your archipelago. They wont expand but they will add you more attractions (please see Attractions per Level Ratio) Please go to Archipelago View. To do so please clock on the globe icon located in the top right corner of your screen (right beside islands bar) Then you will be transferred to Archipelago View and in there please open the shop. Click on the link that looks like an anchor. 

 

 

What is switch islands? 

We have a great feature called Switch Islands. The icon for this is located at the right hand side of the game, just to the right of the visitor count. Please be aware, that this will not add an extra island for you. It will change the island you have. 

Where are the Pirates? 

The pirates are great little guys who invade your island for some fun while cruising the seven seas! Buy them drinks, watch them fire their little guns into the air and have a great time with the scurvy crew! They are random and will try to sneak up on you. 

Where’s the UFO? 

The UFO is a visitor from the galaxy that has found your islands to be interesting. They beam down our favorite alien! Be careful though, or we might have another Roswell incident on your islands! To get it throw a party - aliens like loud noises :)

Merchant Ship

You may spot red sails of a Merchant Ship that will visit your islands. It will offer you rare goods and exotic wares for very good prices. Make sure to buy something from him and to share it with your friends.

Salvage Ship

We are offering Salvage Ship that have to be placed in Archipelago. When it is there it will search the bottom of the ocean for you and bring you treasures (random items) or coins. You can use is how many times you want but only one time in 24 hours is for free. Above that you will have to pay the crew for they hard work with facebook credits :)

 

 

Attraction per Level 

There is a limit set on attractions (items that generate coins for you) Until you will reach level 15 you may get only one per level. After that two per level.
