We thought it may be beneficial to those having difficulties to post up the walkthrough to Chapter 1. This can be used to cross check if you are having any issues in the first few steps of the game. 

Spoiler warning, this WILL show the story of the game for the first chapter. 


Part 1. Intro Video... 
53 years have passed since the Great Cataclysm... 
The land is consumed by shadow and ash. 
We wander the wasteland as nomads... Braving great dangers simply to survive. 

And then... Our first sign of life. A glorious spring of hope, water. 

Now, we would use a word all but forgotten. 

Home. 



1. Restore the Well. 
You are introduced to Ashlen Rose, an advisor to you while developing and protecting your colony. She will guide and interact with you throughout the story. 
 

Click the Well to start your colony. 
 



2. Build a Stone Tower. 
Ethan will introduce himself here as part of your advisor. He recommends building a Stone Tower to help defend your colony. 
 

1. Select the 'Store' icon from your game HUD, image of a Hammer. It is highlighted with a Blue Arrow. 
 
2. Select the Stone Tower from the Build Menu that appears. The default tab is usually the Buildings Tab, but for the tutorial, it will automatically focus on your required building's group. 
 
3. Place the Stone Tower in the highlighted area. 
 
4. Construction starts and completed, Click the building to complete it. 
 
5. Animation starts, you must defend against attackers. 



3. Attack Axels Raiders. 
Ethan informs you that they have discovered the location of the raiders that attacked you. Time to get some revenge! 
 

1. Select the 'Map' button in the bottom 
2. You have discovered the location of the Raider Base. Click on it to go attack it! (Note: All Storyline missions on the map have a Number above their name.) 
 
3. You need to deploy your troops. Deploy them into the battlefield and raze the base! 
 
 
4. Victory! You can see your Battle Log from here and share the Spoils of War. Select the 'X' to close the window and return to your base. 
 



4. Build your Town Hall 
Ashlen informs you that you need to build a Town Hall. This is the center of your operations in the Wasteland, and where you will conduct research from for the foreseeable future to make and improve buildings and units, so it is important to get it up and running fast! 

 
1. Select the 'Store' icon from your game HUD, image of a Hammer. 
2. Select the 'Town Hall' from the Build Menu that appears. 
 
3. Place the Town Hall in the highlighted area. 
 
4. Construction starts and completed, Click the building to complete it. 



5. Scavenge the Rubble 
By Scavenging the Rubble, you can gain resources and parts. These are important for building your new Empire. Ashlen will teach you how to Scavenge. 
 

1. Click the Rubble that the Blue Arrow is pointing towards. 
2. Click 'Scavenge' on the rubble. Make sure you have enough civilians to do this. 
3. When complete, you must click the Rubble again to finish Scavenging. 



6. Build a Farm 
Farms are important as they provide the food for your colony to eat and survive. The more farms, the more colonists can live in your Empire. 
 
1. Select the 'Store' icon from your game HUD, image of a Hammer. 
2. Select the 'Farm' from the Build Menu that appears. 
 
3. There is NO highlighted area here. You must however build it so it connects to the Road, which in turn must be connected to the Main Well. 



7. Build a House 
Houses are important as they provide the shelter for your colonists. The more Houses, the more colonists can live in your Empire. 
 
1. Select the 'Store' icon from your game HUD, image of a Hammer. 
2. Select the 'House' from the Build Menu that appears. 
3. There is NO highlighted area here. You must however build it so it connects to the Road, which in turn must be connected to the Main Well. 



8. Build an Auxiliary Well 
Auxiliary Well's are EXTREMELY important for your progress in the Wasteland. They provide extra water to your colonists and can be used to expand the radius of where you can and cannot interact of the colony. Place them as far away from the Main Well as you can to gain the best advantage. 
 
1. Select the 'Store' icon from your game HUD, image of a Hammer. 
2. Select the 'Auxiliary Well' from the Build Menu that appears. 
3. The Auxiliary Well can now be placed. A Radius of your Water is displayed, showing where you can build it in relation to other water sources, and how much new influence you will gain from placing it in a specific location. We recommend spacing them out as much as possible. 
 
4. Warning: These are permanent. Are you sure you want to place it here? 
 
5. This also introduces the element of 'Parts'. Some buildings need parts to be built and to be upgraded. For Auxiliary wells, you need Car Batteries. For more on this, see the FAQ. We have given you 2 Batteries to start you off, so hit 'Complete'. 
 
6. To get more rubble, you will need to build more, so keep building those wells! 
 




9. Build a Martial Hall 
The Martial Hall or Barracks is where you train your Army Units. They will be used for attacks. Ethan explains how to make the Martial Hall. 
 
1. Select the 'Store' icon from your game HUD, image of a Hammer. 
2. Select the 'Martial Hall' from the Build Menu that appears. 
 
3. You can place the building where you wish, as long as it is connected to the road and there is no Rubble in the way. If there is Rubble in the way, scavenge it first. 
 





10. Counter Attack 
We need to teach those Raiders a lesson and earn ourselves a Reputation in the Wasteland! Lets go get them! 
 

1. Click the Map to find the Raiders location. 
2. Click the Enemy Raider and Attack! (Note: All Storyline missions on the map have a Number above their name.) 
 
3. Ethan will inform you about Reputation and the importance of it in battle. 
4. Deploy you troops, and attack the tower. 
5. Ethan pops up to tell you more about your Reputation 
 
 
 
 
6. Continue destroying the enemy base.
